On September 8, H.E. Mr. Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, and his spouse hosted a farewell reception at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing. Professor Zhou Yushu, President of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences, was invited to attend the event, accompanied by Ms. Shi Lizhen, Dean of the Department of Foreign Languages, and Mr. Tang Jun, Director of the Pakistan Studies Center.

The reception was graced by the presence of distinguished diplomats and dignitaries, including H.E. Mr. Khalil Hashmi; H.E. Mr. Masood Khalid, former Ambassador of Pakistan to China; H.E. Ms. Naghmana Alamgir Hashmi, former Ambassador of Pakistan to China; H.E. Mr. Moin-ul-Haque, former Ambassador of Pakistan to China; H.E. Mr. Martin Mbana, Ambassador of Cameroon to China; H.E. Mr. Sha Zukang, former Ambassador and Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva; and H.E. Mr. Lu Shulin, former Ambassador of China to Pakistan.

During their exchanges, President Zhou Yushu briefead the ambassadors on the outcomes of the College’s recent cooperation with Pakistani universities and research institutions in the fields of education, scientific research, and cultural exchange. The ambassadors commended Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences for its proactive engagement in fostering Pakistan-China cooperation and exchange. They also spoke highly of President Zhou’s research on the philological origins of scripts in the Indus Valley region, noting that his findings serve as a bridge for dialogue between the ancient civilizations of Pakistan and China, thereby enriching bilateral academic and cultural interaction and promoting mutual learning between the two civilizations.

President Zhou Yushu observed that Pakistan and China are ironclad brothers, and that people-to-people exchanges constitute an important bridge for enhancing mutual understanding. Since the College established friendly relations with the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing in 2010, the two sides have maintained close and productive interactions. To date, five Pakistani ambassadors have extended significant attention and support to the College. Looking ahead, the College remains committed to deepening its collaboration with Pakistani universities and research institutions, further advancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and contributing its part to the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China in the new era.
