On January 29, the 10-day, 9-night English Oral Training Winter Camp, featuring a full foreign faculty and organized by Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences, came to a successful close. Throughout this journey, where language served as a bridge, campers gained immensely and grew significantly through immersive learning and practice.

On the eve of the closing ceremony, a warm and lively farewell party unfolded under the night sky. Songs, laughter, and cheers intertwined, creating the most touching melody of this winter night. Foreign teachers stood shoulder to shoulder with the campers — some sang loudly, some danced freely, and some shared their reflections on the journey in English.

Looking back on the past few days, campers made breakthroughs in immersive oral English classes. Looking back on the journey, it was these diverse and enriching study experiences that led to a visible transformation in the campers’ English skills. Their spoken English skills underwent a visible transformation. The foreign teachers built bridges of communication through fun interactions, role-playing scenarios, topic sharing, and more.

Following their teachers, the campers imitated pronunciation and accumulated sentence patterns. Not only did their vocabulary and spoken fluency become more proficient, but their expressiveness and confidence also improved significantly, marking a leap from “daring to speak” to “speaking well.” This newfound confidence turned language into a bond for cross-cultural communication. Every experience left its mark on their growth.

Outdoor study activities were rich and colorful — tracing history in the ancient town of Yunzhong, exploring new knowledge at the science and technology museum, and experiencing nature at Mengcao (M-Grass). Each place offered unique rewards.

Entering the Inner Mongolia Museum, campers wandered among cultural relics and historical records, touching traces of the past and sharing their reflections in English through bilingual interactions, blending language learning with historical exploration.

At the Ice and Snow World, campers shared their joy in English while playing. With fluent conversations, the winter fun grew even warmer through language interaction.

Looking back on the journey, it was these diverse and enriching study experiences that led to a visible transformation in the campers’ English skills. The foreign teachers used fun, interactive methods to integrate otherwise dry grammar and vocabulary into engaging, real-life teaching. They listened patiently to every awkward expression, eased the campers’ nerves with encouraging looks, and clarified sentence structures with humorous examples. In a relaxed atmosphere, the campers broke through their own limits.

Through these study activities, the campers experienced growth. Every observation brought gains, and every experience led to progress. From initial nervousness in unfamiliar situations to later confidence in handling various scenarios, their independence was greatly strengthened. They learned self-management and self-decision-making.

Growth was reflected not only in improved abilities but also in inner transformation. In team activities, the children helped each other, progressed together, and formed deep friendships. Those figures laughing in the snow, the focused expressions in English class, and the determined eyes during team challenges all bore witness to the deepening of friendships and the footprints of growth.

This full foreign faculty winter camp was an experience of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and an opportunity to unlock potential. What the campers gained was not only knowledge and skills but also qualities such as independence, courage, and cooperation.

The winter camp has come to a temporary close, but the story of growth continues. May all students carry the knowledge, skills, warmth, and strength accumulated this winter — and blossom toward the sun, full of hope.
