Professor Tang Jun, Ph.D., is currently the Director of the Pakistan Research Center of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences and a member of the Academic Committee of the College. He is also a member of the editorial review committees of several internationally recognized academic journals, including the Journal of Political Science published by Government College University Lahore, Pakistan; the Journal of Development Policy, Research and Practice published by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Pakistan; the Journal of Peace and Diplomacy published by the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS), Pakistan; the Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences published by Central Punjab University, Pakistan; and the Journal of Social Sciences and Economics of Pakistan. He also serves as a think tank advisor for the Institute of Strategic Studies, Pakistan, and is the Editor-in-Chief of the international academic journal Journal Interdisciplinary Insights.

Professor Tang Jun’s research focuses on the theoretical innovation of the adaptation of Marxism to the Chinese context, the international dissemination of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, comparative studies of Chinese and Pakistani philosophical traditions, and the theoretical construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. His academic work also extensively explores the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, cultural communication mechanisms, and people-to-people connectivity between China and Pakistan.

With long-term engagement in China-Pakistan studies, Professor Tang Jun has developed an interdisciplinary research framework integrating philosophy, international relations, regional studies, cultural communication, and policy research. His academic achievements demonstrate both theoretical significance and practical policy value, contributing to a deeper understanding of China-Pakistan relations and broader regional cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Academic Contributions and Think Tank Engagement

Professor Tang Jun has actively promoted international academic cooperation and the development of China-Pakistan studies. In 2022, he took the initiative in establishing the China-Pakistan Research Center Alliance, an academic cooperation platform bringing together more than ten universities and research institutions from China and overseas. The alliance aims to strengthen academic collaboration, facilitate joint research, promote knowledge exchange, and build a professional network for scholars focusing on China-Pakistan relations and regional development.

Under his leadership, the Pakistan Research Center has organized and participated in numerous international conferences, academic forums, and research projects. One of the major research achievements, “China Pakistan Economic Corridor: A Decade of Transformation across Pakistan — Regional Impacts and Progress,” was officially released internationally and received significant attention from academic institutions, think tanks, and policy research organizations. The research findings were referenced by institutions including the Embassy of Pakistan in China and Pakistan’s Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives as valuable academic and policy research material.

The research outcomes led by Professor Tang Jun and his team have also been recognized and cited by various academic and think tank institutions, including Karakoram International University, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences, and the Center for Cross-Cultural Communication Studies of Hebei University. These achievements reflect the international influence of the Pakistan Research Center in promoting regional studies and strengthening China-Pakistan academic dialogue.

Professor Tang Jun and his research team have conducted multiple field research visits to Pakistan, carrying out comprehensive studies on bilateral relations, cultural exchanges, social development, and regional cooperation. Based on extensive empirical research, the team has completed a series of academic reports, including studies on the history of China-Pakistan cultural exchanges and contemporary cooperation mechanisms. These research findings have been incorporated into the regional studies database of the Xinjiang International Economic and Cultural Development Center, contributing to the development of China’s regional country studies.

Promoting Cross-Cultural Understanding and China-Pakistan Cooperation

Since 2022, Professor Tang Jun has served as a keynote lecturer for Pakistan’s “Understanding China” training program, where he systematically introduces China’s development experience, governance practices, and the theoretical framework of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Through lectures, academic exchanges, and policy dialogues, he has contributed to enhancing Pakistani scholars’ and professionals’ understanding of contemporary China.

As an active scholar and think tank practitioner in South Asian studies, Professor Tang Jun is committed to promoting dialogue among civilizations, strengthening mutual understanding between China and Pakistan, and advancing academic cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. His work has positioned the Pakistan Research Center of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences as an important platform for research, communication, and cooperation between Chinese and Pakistani academic communities.
