A graduation ceremony for international students of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences was successfully held on July 17, 2019. A total of 22 Pakistani students completed their academic programs and received completion certificates from the College. All of the students successfully passed the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Level 5 examination with excellent scores, marking an important achievement in their Chinese language learning journey and academic experience in China.
At the ceremony, Pakistani student Muhammad Usman (Chinese name: Sheng Ming) delivered a speech in fluent Chinese on behalf of the graduating students. Expressing his sincere gratitude to the College, he said that his experience at Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences had provided him with valuable knowledge, unforgettable memories, and a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. He also expressed his hope that he and his fellow students would become bridges of friendship and cultural exchange between Pakistan and China.
The completion ceremony was held in the conference room on the 8th floor of Chongde Building. Vice President Wang Xingang attended the ceremony and presented completion certificates to the Pakistani students. Other attendees included Shi Lizhen, Director of the Office of International Affairs; Wulan, Director of the International Student Affairs Department; Wang Zhigang, teacher from the Office of International Affairs; and international student counselors Guo Jiang, Wang Di, Wang Wei, and Zhang Tengyue.
The 22 graduating students were all from Pakistan and were scholarship recipients. Among them, three students received the Masood Scholarship, while nineteen students received scholarships provided by the Government of Punjab Province, Pakistan. Through systematic Chinese language training and academic study at the College, all students successfully passed the HSK Level 5 examination, achieving scores above 210 points. The highest score reached 286 points out of 300, and one student successfully passed the HSK Level 6 examination. According to the HSK scoring standard, a score of 180 points is required to pass Level 5, making these results a strong reflection of the students’ dedication, perseverance, and language learning achievements.
Since beginning the enrollment of Pakistani students in 2015, Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences has continuously expanded its international education programs and has cultivated a growing number of outstanding international students. By 2019, the College had successfully trained and graduated 51 Pakistani students. After completing their studies, some graduates returned to Pakistan and became actively involved in areas related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), contributing to economic, cultural, and educational cooperation between the two countries. Others chose to continue their higher education in China, pursuing further academic development.
During the completion ceremony, Vice President Wang Xingang extended his warm congratulations to the graduating students and expressed sincere appreciation to the teachers and staff members who had contributed to international student education. He praised the students for their determination, adaptability, and efforts to overcome challenges while studying in a new cultural environment. He encouraged the graduates to continue improving their Chinese language skills, maintain their passion for learning, and actively contribute to friendship and cooperation between China and Pakistan.
Pakistani student Aziz Ur Rehman (Chinese name: Jiayi) also delivered a speech in fluent and humorous Chinese, sharing memorable experiences from his study and daily life at the College. Through stories about classroom learning, campus activities, and interactions with teachers and classmates, he expressed his deep appreciation for the support and care provided by the College. His speech reflected both the happiness of studying in China and his sincere attachment to the College community.
During the ceremony, a presentation created by the international students themselves was displayed, showcasing their academic experiences, campus life, cultural activities, and unforgettable moments at Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences. The presentation demonstrated not only their personal growth during their studies but also the close friendship developed between Pakistani students and Chinese teachers and students.
In recent years, Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences has actively promoted international education and strengthened its global engagement. The College has continuously improved its international student management system, enhanced teaching quality, diversified cultural exchange activities, and provided comprehensive support for students from different countries. Through a combination of academic education, language training, cultural integration, and student services, the College has achieved remarkable results in cultivating international talents.
The successful completion of studies by the 22 Pakistani students represents another important milestone in the College’s international education development. It also highlights the significant role of the Pakistan Research Center of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences and related international cooperation initiatives in promoting educational exchange and mutual understanding between China and Pakistan.
Looking ahead, Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences will continue to strengthen cooperation with Pakistani universities and educational institutions, expand international academic exchanges, and provide more opportunities for students from around the world. Through education as a bridge, the College remains committed to promoting people-to-people connectivity, cultural understanding, and long-term friendship between China and Pakistan under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
