Notice of Registration for the Campus Preliminary Competition
Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences
I. Introduction to the Competition
To thoroughly implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and the National Education Conference; to implement The Outline of the Master Plan for Building a Leading Country in Education (2024–2035); to fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education; to further advance the “Three Initiatives” – integrating multilingual editions of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China into universities, textbooks, and classrooms; to deepen the reform of foreign language education in higher education institutions; to enhance the quality of independent cultivation of foreign language talents; to cultivate high-caliber professionals for international communication; to help boost China’s international influence, appeal, and shaping power; to advance high-level opening-up; to promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations; and to contribute actively to building a community with a shared future for mankind – under the guidance and support of higher authorities, the campus preliminary round of the 2025 “FLTRP · ETIC Cup” “Understanding Contemporary China” National College Students’ Foreign Language Proficiency Competition series will be held. Details are as follows:
II. Eligibility
All current students of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences.
III. Competition Categories
Five categories are offered in the College preliminary round:
Comprehensive Proficiency
Public Speaking
Written Translation
Oral Interpreting
Short Video
IV. Registration Method
Participants must register on the official competition website (https://ucc.fltrp.com) via the “Participant Registration/Competition” page. Please fill in the registration information and select the corresponding category. Registration Deadline (for Public Speaking, Comprehensive Proficiency, Written Translation, and Oral Interpreting): September 20.
V. Details of Each Competition Category
A. Public Speaking Competition
1. Competition Format:
The first round of the preliminary contest is a prepared speech with a time limit of 3 minutes, on the topic Strike the Waves.
Outstanding performers in the first round will advance to the second round, which consists of an impromptu speech (3 minutes) followed by a question-and-answer session (1 minute).
2.Competition Procedure:
(a). Online Preliminary Round
(i). Submit a 3-minute prepared speech video before September 20, 2025.
(ii). Video duration: no more than 3 minutes
(iii). Full or half-body shot of the contestant, clear audio and image
(iv). File format: MP4
(v). File size: between 50 MB and 150 MB
(vi). File naming format: Full Name + Student ID + Major + Phone Number
(b). Submission Methods
(i) Non-English majors: 18247970181@163.com
(ii) English majors: 18640435@qq.com
(c). On-Campus On-Site Competition:
Qualified contestants shall participate in the on-campus competition on the afternoon of October 16, 2025, at the Main Campus of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences.
The session includes: Prepared speech: 3 minutes; Impromptu speech: 2 minutes; Question and answer session.

B. Comprehensive Proficiency & Written Translation Competitions
Both events will be held at the Main Campus of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences on October 12 (Comprehensive Proficiency: 9:30–11:00) (Written Translation: 16:00–18:00).
The specific venue will be determined according to the number of registrants and announced in the competition group afterwards.
For the Comprehensive Proficiency Competition, the national unified online preliminary questions are provided by the competition organizing committee, including several objective questions and one argumentative essay. For the Written Translation Competition, the national unified online preliminary questions are provided by the competition organizing committee, including several objective questions, one English-to-Chinese (non-literary) passage, and one Chinese-to-English (non-literary) passage.
C. Consecutive Interpreting Competition
This competition will be held at the Main Campus of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences in October. The exact time and venue will be determined based on the number of registrants, and further notice will be given accordingly.
