On February 1, Yu Yunquan, Deputy Director of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, met with a delegation headed by Zhou Yushu, President of Inner Mongolia Honder College of Arts and Sciences. The two sides exchanged views on the international communication of Chinese culture, international communication targeting Mongolia, and Esperanto teaching and research. Wang Jiali, Vice President of the college, and Wu Jiacai, Director of the Rock Art Research Institute, accompanied the visit.
Yu Yunquan noted that the international communication of Chinese culture should emphasize the use of universally shared human emotions and cultural symbols. The two sides may further strengthen practical cooperation in international communication, publishing and distribution, cultural exchanges and other fields, and jointly facilitate the global outreach of Chinese culture.
He stressed that the two sides should enhance cooperation and deepen country-specific research on Mongolia under the "one country, one strategy" approach, so as to achieve precise coordination between research and communication. They should also refine communication content, expand communication channels, nurture young talent, and build a flagship program for China-Mongolia people-to-people exchanges. In addition, efforts should be made to advance Esperanto teaching and research, and promote the application of relevant achievements in domestic universities and international Esperanto organizations.
Zhou Yushu introduced the college’s accomplishments in Esperanto teaching and research, and expressed willingness to strengthen cooperation with the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration in publishing books promoting Chinese culture, organizing youth exchange activities between China and Mongolia, compiling and publishing Esperanto textbooks, and other related fields.
